Work For Us
Join Our Team
A team of three full-time and eleven part-time staff make up the leadership team at Urban Roots. We work very closely together, and like in any small non-profit, we each do a little bit of everything. From teaching to grant writing to feeding the chickens or building a hoop house, our team must be flexible, positive, and willing to try their hand at everything.
"No place has given me a sense of self or community quite like Urban Roots. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child as they cultivate their own sense of place and growth inspires me to be the best teacher I can be."
- Sam Hutmier, Farm to School Educator

Thinking about applying?
This site covers pretty much everything that we do. Make sure the programs are things that you're interested in being a part of.
We're pretty active on there and you'll get a good feel for what's going on now and the things that we think are important.
We open the Urban Teaching Farm (1700 E 2nd Street) to the public on Saturdays from 10am-12pm. Come check out where we work and meet the people who make it all go!
