Field Trips

Come on a field trip to our farm!

Bring your students to our teaching farm for a hands-on two hour field trip. Students will meet our chickens, investigate plant lifecycles, and explore the insects living in our garden beds, all while meeting Nevada Academic Content Standards.

How to Get There

The Urban Teaching Farm is at 1700 East 2nd Street. Buses can drop off at our entrance on Gould Street and park in the empty parking lot across Gould. Mapping programs will send you to our office if you just enter "Urban Roots" so please make sure to share the street address with anyone driving on the field trip.

What to Bring

Please make sure any attendees - children and adults - are prepared to be outside the entire time. We recommend closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, hats, and water bottles.

What to Bring

What will the students do at the field trip?

It depends on the season and the grade of the students. In general, there will be a tour of the farm, a standards-based lesson, and farm chores (planting, harvesting, etc.)

My class includes students with special needs. Can you accommodate us?

Yes! Please let us know what kind of accommodations you will need when booking your field trip.
