Seed To Table
A kitchen allows us to teach students how they can prepare the ingredients they grow into healthy meals. With demonstration space and proposed cook stations for children to practice these skills, they will leave our programs empowered with habits that support nutritious living.
This addition to our Farm means our students can gather to eat and gather to learn, offering space for more students than we have been able to host in the past. It also means we can offer classes to the community as a whole to continue our outreach in Washoe County.
Students will now be able to learn how to plant, tend, harvest and prepare ingredients for healthy living with their own two hands. This seed-to-table experience enables us to add an immersive, powerful component to our curriculum for children at a pivotal learning age.
